updated: Local governments can expand the categories of residents eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Tuesday.
Included in the possible expansion are taxi and for-hire drivers, the developmentally disabled in facilities, and restaurant workers.
The state is also working on targeting neighborhoods with high positivity states such as the Bronx and will use Yankee stadium as a mass vaccination event for Bronx residents.
He also said Long Island is “problematic” because of its continued high infection rate.
