Earth Day Expo Set for April 4 at Heckscher Park

 The Town of Huntington will mark the 50th year of Earth Day celebrations with an expo in Heckscher Park on April 4.

The expo will include fun activities for families, information about ways to go green, energy efficiency at home, composting, clothing recycling and more. Cornell Cooperative will provide a touch tank for learning about marine life.

In addition, the first 150 residents will receive a bare-root tree sapling, donated by the National Wildlife Federation.

At its Feb. 11 meeting, Town Board authorized. on a 5-0 vote,  Storage Quarters Records Management of Garden City to provide free paper shredding services at Earth Day 2020 activities. A maximum cost of $500 was okayed by the board for the contract, to be negotiated by Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci.
