A Boston Terrier from East Northport will be on the catwalk Thursday at the New York Pet Fashion Show.
The show at the Hotel Pennsylvania in Midtown Manhattan kicks off the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
“She’s very pampered,” Patrice Mistretta, Rita’s human — and chauffeur, groomer and handler–told the New York Post. “I’m the stage mom,” said Mistretta, 46, who lives in East Northport. “It’s like ‘Toddlers and Tiaras’. ”
The newspaper The Jewish Voice said fashion show charges $50 for general admissions, which includes VIP gift bag, complimentary food, music, and the four runway shows. A portion of the event’s proceeds are donated to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. Awards are given for best in show, and the Golden Paw Awards will also be presented. The event is co-chaired by publisher and public relations professional Gregg Oehler, and by pet fashion designer Ada Nieves, the Voice said.
