Residents age 50 and up are now eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said Monday.
More than 1 million vaccines have been administered in the last seven days in the state, Cuomo said.
Cuomo also has proposed a “Roll Up Your Sleeve” campaign, encouraging religious organizations and medical providers to partner to provide vaccine clinics.

“The pool of eligible New Yorkers is now larger than ever before, which means we need to do more to reach everyone who is eligible. Over the next few weeks we expect to see vaccine production ramping up, and we have to make sure we have the capacity and the willingness to take the vaccine,” Cuomo said.
The ‘Am I Eligible’ screening tool has been updated for individuals with comorbidities and underlying conditions with new appointments released on a rolling basis over the next weeks. New Yorkers can use the following to show they are eligible:
- Doctor’s letter, or
- Medical information evidencing comorbidity, or
- Signed certification
