Elwood School Voters to Pick Trustee, Weigh $62 Million Budget

Voters in the Elwood school district will choose between two candidates for the Board of Education and decide the fate of a $62,728,901 proposed budget on Tuesday.

Incumbent Deborah Weiss and Dr. Sara Siddiqui, a pediatrician, are competing for the board seat.

The proposed spending meets the district’s levy cap of 2.56%. Individual taxpayer bills can vary from that amount.

Voting is from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Elwood Middle School cafeteria.
