Emergency Blood Drive Thursday

The town and the New York Blood Center are sponsoring a blood drive Thursday to deal with an emergency shortage.

The drive is set for 8:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the community center at the Big H shopping center, 809 New York Avenue.

“Local hospitals need the public’s help with the emergency blood shortage Long Island is facing,” Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci said. “Please donate and share this life-saving gift.”

Each donation will help save up to three lives. Donors will receive a certificate for a free large sandwich or premium salad at Long Island McDonald’s with any purchase.
