Homeless Man Accused of Endangering Child at Library

Suffolk County Police Tuesday arrested a homeless man on charges of endangering the welfare of a child after he approached a young girl at a Huntington Station library on Monday.

A man gave the 4-year-old girl a stuffed animal, asked her to come with him and touched her hair at the Huntington Public Library,  at 1335 New York Ave.,  at about 3:15 p.m. The girl’s mother confronted the man and he left the scene.

Following an investigation, Second Precinct Crime Section officers arrested Jose Aparicio near the library Tuesday morning. Aparicio, 30, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday.
