Enviromensch Featured in New York Times

Environmensch–Amanda Lindner– whose blog about living a zero-waste lifestyle is published each week on HuntingtonNow, is featured in Monday’s New York Times.

Lindner writes about wasteful living and how to reduce or eliminate waste. That includes eliminating the use of plastic in nearly all aspects of daily life, from plastic straws to unnecessary packaging.

“I care about a lot of issues, but I feel you can’t stand for anything if there’s not a planet to stand on,” said Lindner, 29, who works for Avodah, a Jewish social justice nonprofit organization. “There are so many things I can’t change as an individual, but I can do these small things every day.”

On HuntingtonNow.com, she has written about reducing vegan restaurants, food waste, cruelty-free shampoo, razors and toothbrushes.

Lindner is a former Huntington resident, editor for Patch, and an organizer for Vegan Long Island. Follow her blog on reducing waste and living an environmentally aware life at Enviromensch.
