Ex-Patients Take Their Musical Skills to The Knolls

A group of Long Islanders who have recently recovered from serious illnesses or injuries performed Tuesday for others who can’t be home for Christmas. The former patients, dressed in colorful holiday outfits, played drums and sang for residents of The Knolls in Melville. The performance was livestreamed to patients and healthcare workers at Excel at Woodbury for Rehabilitation and Nursing, where many of them had been treated.The musical performance is a part of a recently launched rehab program, which helps senior citizens improve their heart and lung health using the power of music, including drumming and singing.
