Fall Festival to Kick Off Long Holiday Weekend

The Long Island Fall Festival gets underway at Heckscher Park Friday evening, with a schedule jam-packed with musical performances, carnival rides, a mix of entertainment such as magic acts, a meatball-eating contest, and vendors marketing something for everyone.

A large turnout is expected, with bright, sunny weather and daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s throughout the weekend.

The hours are: Friday: 5pm-9pm, Saturday-Sunday: 11am-9pm and Monday: 11am-5pm.  Vendors are available through Sunday, lining Prime Avenue, onto Madison Street.

On Thursday, vendors were setting up their stands, carting and positioning tables, chairs tanks, netting, boxes of food and merchandise to prepare the long weekend.
