Finley School Closed by Student’s Covid-19 Positive Test

Finley Middle School was closed Friday beccause of a student tested positive for Covid-19 and all students moved to remote learning.

Huntington Superintendent James W. Polansky wrote that the district is working with the Suffolk County Health Department to establish contact tracing.

“‘While the student’s symptoms first appeared on a weekend day, contract tracing must go back 48 hours from that day. In consultation with the SCDHS, we will be directing students and staff who have been in close or proximate contact with the positive student case to stay home and remain engaged in remote learning until further notice from the school district or SCDHs,” Polansky said.
