Fire Damages Condos at The Greens in Melville

Two condo units  were heavily damaged in a fire Thursday afternoon at  The Greens apartments in Melville.
First arriving Melville Fire Department units found heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors in two condos in the 16-unit building on Adriatic Drive.
The Melville Fire Department, along with firefighters from Dix Hills, Huntington Manor, Plainview, East Farmingdale, Farmingdale and Wyandanch, fought the blaze, which also damaged two other apartment units. About 75 firefighters using 10  trucks had the fire under control within 40 minutes, under the command of Chief Chris Nolan and First Assistant Chief David Kaplan.
Four Melville Rescue Squad ambulances and EMT’S provided emergency medical support, but  no injuries were reported, with all residents safely out on arrival.
The Suffolk Police Arson Squad and Huntington Town Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire. Two condo units sustained heavy fire damage with water and smoke damage to at least two more.
