American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 has scheduled its “Old Glory” Flag Disposal Box for the year.
The box will be stationed in the Town of Huntington‘s libraries throughout the year for proper disposal of worn American flags.
A U.S. flag should be retired when it is ripped, faded, frayed, or otherwise unserviceable as an emblem of the country.
Half Hollow Hills Community Library, Northport-East Northport Public Library, South Huntington Public Library, Huntington Public Library, Elwood Public Library, Commack Public Library, Cold Spring Harbor Library & Environmental Center are participating.
