Huntington organizations are wrapping up their pre-Thanksgiving distribution of food to those in need. And other places are getting ready for Christmas.
Helping Hand Rescue Mission collected and re-distributed hundreds of pounds of food that had been collected by a variety of organizations and individuals, including students, elected officials, religious organizations and more.
Christmas mailbox at Prianti Farms
Ready for Christmas
Prianti Farms has a Christmas mailbox, received after a request to the elves at the North Pole. Children can write to Santa Claus, starting Wednesday, and drop off their letters at the farm, 47 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills.
The Huntington Manor Fire Department will start its Christmas tree sale on Dec. 4.
About the Trash
Since Thursday is Thanksgiving, trash pickup is pushed back. Thursday pickup is rescheduled to Friday; pickup on Friday is pushed back to Saturday.
