Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci will hostĀ Adrienne Esposito of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Rob DiGiovanni of Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and Christina Manto of Wildlife Conservation Society Thursday for a free public forum, Keeping Plastics Out of Long Island Sound.
The forum at Town Hall starts at 7 p.m. It will also be live-streamed onĀ Optimum 18, FIOS 38 and the Town website.
Plastic pollution is a growing threat to waterways globally and to local marine life. An estimated 267 species of marine and avian life are impacted by throw-away plastics, including whales, turtles, seals, and dolphins that populate the Long Island Sound and surrounding New York waters.
The forum will provide a chance to hear leading experts in the field discuss impacts of plastic pollution on our wildlife, water, and communities.
