Forum Thursday on Protecting LI Sound

Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci will host  Adrienne Esposito of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, Rob DiGiovanni of Atlantic Marine Conservation Society and Christina Manto of Wildlife Conservation Society Thursday for a free public forum, Keeping Plastics Out of Long Island Sound.

The forum at Town Hall starts at 7 p.m. It will also be live-streamed on  Optimum 18, FIOS 38 and the Town website.

Plastic pollution is a growing threat to waterways globally and to local marine life. An estimated 267 species of marine and avian life are impacted by throw-away plastics, including whales, turtles, seals, and dolphins that populate the Long Island Sound and surrounding New York waters.

The forum will provide a chance to hear leading experts in the field discuss impacts of plastic pollution on our wildlife, water, and communities.
