Forum to Examine Proposed LIPA Settlement

The Town of Huntington hosts the first of two public forums Monday night on the proposed settlement of the long-running LIPA lawsuit over taxes on the Northport power plant.

Because of limits on the number of people who can attend the 6 p.m.  forum at Heckscher Park, the town is encouraging people with access to Optimum 18, FiOs 38 or the internet to view from home. Those viewing from home can also speak at the forum if they want to by using the link at  huntingtonny.gov/featured-programs and call in or video in using the Zoom platform.

To register for Heckscher site access, residents not already registered with the Parks Department have to sign up with a form that asks several questions, including birthday, and then bring a printout of the form with them to the forum.

Town attorney Nick Ciappetta is scheduled to take questions from the stage.
