A plan to convert a White Castle restaurant into a Taco Bell won the approval of the Huntington Planning Board Wednesday night.
The restaurant, at 540 Walt Whitman Road, Melville, will be demolished and the site rebuilt for a Taco Bell restaurant with a drive-through window.
The next step will involve winning building permits for the project.
According to Loopnet, the White Castle was built in 1999. The property features over 200 feet of frontage on Route 110, and has parking for approximately 50 cars.
Plans on file with the Planning Board for the project
