Fuel Trucks Ticketed at Inspection Checkpoint

Suffolk County Police and other agenices inspected14 commercial trucks  at a checkpoint in Huntington Station Wednesday.

Included in the inspections were seven home heating oil tanker trucks that were checked for meter compliance and overall vehicle safety. During the inspection, 39 summonses were issued which included 11 Environmental Conservation violations, seven weight violations and one for an unsealed meter. Four of the vehicles were placed out of service.

The inspection was conducted by the department’s Motor Carrier Safety Section, New York State Department of Transportation, Suffolk County Department of Weights and Measures and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police.

The inspections were conducted in a Long Island Railroad parking lot.
