Fundraising Campaign Set Up for ‘Voice of Long Island’

A fundraising campaign has been set up to assist Terry Bisogno, known as the “Voice of Long Island” for his work announcing hundreds of road races over the years.

Bisogno has encountered serious medical problems, according to the campaign.

He has announced many several races around the area, including the Miles for Michael run at Walt Whitman High School. He is well known for his humorous but well-informed commentary on races and individual runners as they complete their runs.

“Terry has been known to spend hours upon hours of his own time researching and memorizing little-known facts and stats about every athlete to make the feeling of crossing that finish line even more memorable,” wrote Rich Sallustro, who set up the campaign.
“There are countless stories of how Terry has made somebody feel so special with a unique shoutout or compliment at the finish line; now is our chance to show him how special he is to us!”
