The Town Board voted Tuesday to rename Gateway Plaza in honor of Paul H. Johnson, a community leader and former track star at Huntington High School.
He died in February at age 90.
He served in the US Army in the Korean War before returning home for a career at the Long Island Lighting Company. He could frequently be found at Huntington High School sporting and other events.
