Going on an Insect Safari

Gateway Garden, Inc. is sponsoring a free workshop on how to beat the bad bugs and welcome the good—organically.

For vegetable and flower/ornamental gardeners who want to manage garden pests without polluting and toxic chemicals. You will learn how to use techniques that include physical barriers to stop
insects, natural predators for bad insects, and natural products that deter them without exposing yourself, children or family pets to
poison.

Dan Gilrein, an entomologist with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, will lead the workshop.

Presented by Gateway Garden, Inc, the not-for-profit of gardeners that manages the Gateway Community Garden in Huntington Station, with support from the Townwide Fund of Huntington.
