Activists in Huntington will join a nationwide protest Thursday in support of protecting Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The protests come in response to President Trump installing Matthew Whitaker as acting attorney general, taking over oversight of the Mueller investigation from Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. The activists will demand that Whitaker recuse himself given his previous statements about the investigation.
The nationwide protest is being organization by a coalition of hundreds of public interest organizations. More information can be found at TrumpIsNotAboveTheLaw.org.
Multiple Long Island activist groups including Together We Will, Show Up Long Island, ATLI, Get2Work, Long Island Network for Change will join the protest from 5-7 p.m. at the northwest corner of Park Avenue and Main Street in Huntington.
