Groups Plan Candlelight Vigil Over Immigrant Treatment

Activists will gather Friday in Huntington to support immigrants and protest against the treatment of those held in camps along the Mexican border.

The local  Lights for Liberty vigil is part of a series of rallies scheduled across the country.

Protesters will assemble at 8 p.m. at the corner of Park Avenue and Main Street for the candlelight vigil.

The Huntington Lights for Liberty Vigil is being hosted by Long Island Inclusive
Communities Against Hate and Families Belong Together Long Island. It is being sponsored by several organizations, including NY Chapter 2 American Academy of Pediatrics, Latinos Unidos de Long Island, The Unitarian Universalist Church of Huntington, Show Up Long Island, The New York Immigration Coalition, Action Together Long Island, Long Island Network for Change, Huntington Rapid Response, Dedicated to Democracy, Get2Work Long Island, Pantsuit Nation Long Island and Huntington Young Democrats.
