Groups Working to Help the Needy During Covid-19 Crisis

Many who were already struggling in Huntington have been especially hard hit with an almost immediate loss of jobs as the efforts to fight Covid-19 continue.

Some agencies and churches have already stepped up.

Let us know what you are doing as an individual or organization to help those in need.

The Townwide Fund put together $1,200 in grocery store gift cards and delivered them Saturday to Tri-CYA.

“We want to assure the Huntington community that the Townwide Fund stands ready to help our member agencies as we have been for nearly 60 years,” executive director Alice Marie Rorke said. “The Townwide Fund relies on the generosity of the Huntington community to fulfill our mission. While we know these are going to be economically challenging times, we ask you to remember that there will be many local families who are in immediate need of food, clothing and shelter due to job losses or illness.”

Residents can donate directly on the organization’s website.

Huntington United Church of Christ ran a drive-by food donation Saturday.
