Happening in Huntington: Rental Assistance Outreach, Beauty Pageant

What’s happening in Huntington this week:

Monday: The Town of Huntington’s summer drive-in movie series continues with Tom & Jerry,  at the Walt Whitman Shops. The gates will open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at dark, about 8:30 p.m. Movies are free to Town of Huntington residents, but movie-goers are asked bring non-perishable food items for the Helping Hand Rescue Mission.

Tuesday: Housing Help will be providing outreach for people needing emergency rental assistance, from 11am-1pm at the Salvation Army  food pantry at 319 Clay Pitts Road, East Northport. No appointment needed.

The Suffolk police and the Tri-CYA Community and Youth Agency are sponsoring a community barbecue as part of National NIght Out, from 4-7 pm. Free food, entertainment and giveaways. At Tri-CYA headquarters ,809 New  York Ave.

Wednesday: Cold Spring Harbor Lab hosts a virtual seminar series: “Life Science Across the Globe” focusing on global communication and cooperation, from 9-10:30 a.m. Virtual event.

Thursday: The Huntington Zoning Board of Appeals meets at 6 p.m. Agenda

Saturday: La Hacienda restaurant, 1624 New York Ave.,  Huntington Station, is hosting the Miss Latina beauty pageant.
