Happening in Huntington: Summer Movie; Conversation With Cops

Happening in Huntington this coming week:

Monday: The Town of Huntington’s summer movie series continues, with Trolls: World Tour showing at Crab Meadow Beach. Gates open at 6p.m., with the movie showing at about 8:30 p.m. The movie is free but residents are asked to bring a non-perishable item of food to contribute to a food bank.

The application for universal pre-k in the South Huntington school district is due Monday.

Tuesday: The Huntington Historical Society’s lunch and learn series continues at Black and Blue Seafood Chophouse, noon-3 p.m. Author John Barone and historian Alfred “Alfie” Kuntz  will share stories and photographs about the estate and the Caumsett Foundation and the  Marshall Field III Gold Coast estate.

Wednesday: Enjoy live music, outdoor dining, sidewalk sales, kids’ activities and more along Broadway (between Pulaski & Fenwick St), Part of the new Greenlawn Summer Night event. 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Huntington Hospital offers a maternity department tour from 7-10 p.m.

Thursday: The Long Island Dance Consortium presents its Kaleidoscope of Dance, 8-10 p.m., Heckscher Park. The performance is part of the Huntington Arts Council’s Summer Arts Festival, which continues until Aug.8.

 Friday: The South Country String Band. Jay & The Back Porch Band performs from 7-9 p.m., at the Village Park in Northport. The program is presented by the Northport Arts Coalition.

Saturday: There’s  barbecue, a chance to win an electric scooter in a raffle and opportunity to speak with officers from the Second Precinct in an informal setting, from noon to 3 p.m. at Brothers Barbershop, 1024 New York Ave., Huntington Station.
