Harley-Davidson ‘Lighthouse’ Flattened to Make Way for Storage

The building that once housed a Harley-Davidson store in Huntington Station is no more.

Known as the Lighthouse for its distinctive design,  the building housed the motorcycle dealership until January 2012, but the building later reopened as a gym and health foods store. It has been vacant for some time.

But a Florida company, Simple Self Storage, plans to build at on the 1.9-acre lot 670 E. Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station.

The old building was still standing earlier this week though clearly in demolition mode, but by Friday was flattened, with bricks and metal heaped on the ground.
