Huntington will offer free fares throughout next week on its Huntington Area Rapid Transit bus.
The free ware week, running Monday through Saturday, is designed to encourage people to use mass transportation. Thursday is International Care Free Day.
“The Town of Huntington is a leader in sustainable and climate-smart initiatives and HART Bus’ Free Fare Week is another way to go green while simultaneously reducing commuting costs,” said Supervisor Ed Smyth.
The town partners annually with Transit Solutions and 511NYRideshare to promote Car Free Day.
