Thanks to a young resident, the town has ceremoniously renamed itself Hauntington for the day.

“Angelica Dee Cunningham, a Huntington resident, student and avid trick-or-treater, wrote to my office and asked that we rename the Town ‘Hauntington’ for Halloween,” said Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci, who sponsored the resolution to rename the Town. “The Town Board unanimously voted to start this new tradition — I commend Angelica’s interest in local civics and I encourage all of our students to follow her lead!”
