Hearing Set Friday on Suffolk Public Transit

A virtual public meeting for the Suffolk County’s bus network redesign project,  part of the county’s Reimagine Transit Initiative, is scheduled on Zoom on May 21 from noon to 2  pm.

County Executive Steve Bellone said the goal of the public meeting is to engage residents, transit riders, community organizations, and the business community, among others, to help determine the direction of the initiative.

In addition to the public meeting, the county is running a survey to gather community input and understand how best to balance various transit priorities. Residents looking for additional information, including registration links for the community meeting and the transit survey can visit https://connectli.org/RTGetInvolved.html

Earlier this year, Bellone launched a webpage that serves as a one-stop shop location for the Reimagine Transit Initiative. The webpage, located on the County’s Connect Long Island Website, provides general project information and updates, along with opportunities for residents to get involved.
