PSEG to Inspect Power Lines Via Helicopter

Starting Monday, PSEG-LI will be using helicopters to inspect power lines and equipment on Long Island.

PSEG Long Island will be using a blue and yellow Bell Jet Ranger helicopter to conduct aerial equipment inspections. The inspection helicopter will hover above structures for a short duration.

Residents may see the helicopter hovering near power lines and right of ways or following a flight path along electric transmission right of ways. A utility worker will survey wires and vegetation around right of ways and power lines from the helicopter.

Motorists and passersby are advised to use caution in the vicinity of the work and maintain focus on traffic.

The inspections are scheduled for daylight hours through June 7.
