Hundreds Turn Out to Show Off Their Costumes

Hundreds of residents of all ages put on their Halloween finest and strolled through downtown Huntington Sunday, collecting candy from stores and showing off their costumes.

The parade from the US Post Office on Gerard Street was sponsored by Councilmembers Joan Cergol and Mark Cuthbertson. Several other elected officials also spoke at the start  of the parade, including Supervisor Chad Lupinacci,  Councilman Ed Smyth and tax receiver Jillian Guthman.

The town was once again ceremonially renamed Hauntington for the holiday. Costumes ranged from Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, to superheroes, Batman, Harry Potter characters, to hotdogs, baseball players, priests, firefighters, unicorns, vampires, pirates, princesses, cowboys and more.
