With so many Huntington residents unemployed or in need of support, numerous individuals and organizations are among those helping out.
The Huntington Assembly of God, with the help of Friends of Huntington Station Latin Quarter, Helping Hand Mission and others, is providing meals to those in need several days a week. Helping Hand, the Suffolk County Police Department, St. Hugh’s are distributing meals, while the Congregational Church of Huntington and many others are collecting and donating food to pantries.
Schools are providing food to students; the Walt Whitman High School athletic department is operating a food drive for St. Hugh of Lincoln church in Huntington Station.
