Huntington Democrats Endorse 4 for Town Board, Clerk, Tax Receiver

Huntington Democrats ratified their choices for Town Board, town clerk and receiver of taxes Tuesday night.

Selected to run for two Town Board seats were Jennifer Hebert,  an educator and a former president of the Huntington Board of Education who ran unsuccessfully in the last Town Board election, and Don McKay, a former town parks director who now works for Suffolk County.

The Town Board candidates are seeking to succeed Democrat Joan Cergol, who decided not to run again, and take over the seat held by Eugene Cook, who has been both a Republican and an independent.

They also chose Linda Davis Valdez to run against town clerk Andrew Raia, and picked Jillian Guthman to run again. Guthman was at a conference in New York City and didn’t attend the Democratic gathering at the American Legion Hall, where Democratic chairman Mark Cuthbertson presided.
