Huntington District to Join Lawsuit Against e-Cigarette Maker

The Huntington school board voted Monday to join a class-action suit against Juul Labs Inc., maker of e-cigarettes and vaping products.

“The Board wishes to join this lawsuit to discourage the proliferation of ecigarettes, end the marketing of e-cigarettes to children, and seek compensation for harm caused to the District due to e-cigarette use,” the resolution said. The district said costs incurred by the district included staff time, disciplinary proceedings, and technology costs, all expected to rise as the products’ use continues.

The board agreed to appoint  the law firms of Napoli Shkolnik, and McGrath Klaus and Associates, LLP  to provide legal services in connection with pursuing claims for damages against Juul Labs, lnc.
