The Department of Motor Vehicles is closing up shop Friday in Huntington and will reopen Monday in its nex Dix Hills location.
“Our new home in Dix Hills is larger than our current space and has been strategically designed to maximize the number of customers we can serve while maintaining social distancing,” said DMV Commissioner Mark J. F. Schroeder. “We are excited to make this move and look forward to providing the same great service to the people of Suffolk County in our new facility.”
The department announced the move Friday morning after not responding to queries from HuntingtonNow.com in October.
The new office is next door to Retro Fitness at 1815 East Jericho Turnpike. It will provide a learner permit test room and improved signage for customers.
Because of the Covid-19 epidemic, customers must use online services or make a reservation for in-person assistance.
