Huntington Faith Groups Plan Environmental Activities

Houses of worship are participating in a variety of environmentally themed activities during the week of April 22-30.

Huntington Interfaith Climate Week includes such ideas as encouraging people to leave their leaves on their lawns, eliminating gas-powered leaf blowers, and add native plants to their property, as well as other projects.

The week of events culminates in the showing of KISS the Ground, a film on healing the planet, which will be shown at Cinema Arts Centre April 30.  The film is narrated by actor Woody Harrelson, and will be followed by a question and answer session.

Among the faith groups sponsoring the event are:

BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Bethany Presbyterian Church, Centerport United Methodist Church, Dix Hills Jewish Center, East Northport Jewish Center, First Presbyterian Church of Greenlawn, First Presbyterian
