Huntington residents are asked to limit the amount of yard waste put out for pickup to 10 bags a week.
The town said that the volume of yardwaste left at the curb has significantly increased in recent weeks, made worse by the amount of debris caused by a recent storm.
” Not only are residents performing yard clean-up projects but the Town has seen a proliferation of landscapers leaving their yard waste clean-up materials curbside rather than carting it away as most had previously done,” the town said.
The increase will result in significant financial overruns for the Department of Environmental Waste Management, the town said.
