Huntington Man Accused of Threatening to Shoot Boy Over Video Game

A Huntington man was arrested Tuesday on charges that he threatened to shoot an 11-year-old boy who had beaten him in a video game, Suffolk County police said.

Michael Aliperti, 45, was arrested at his home and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and acting in a manner to injure a child. He was scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip later in the day.

Suffolk Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers began investigating after the Kings Park boy reported receiving threatening text messages and online voice messages via Xbox from a man he recently beat during a game of Fortnite. In the messages, which were sent Monday, the man threatened to shoot the child, possibly at his school.
