The Clark Gillies arena is available as a warming center Saturday until midnight, Town Supervisor Ed Smyth said.
The arena at the Dix Hills Ice Rink will also be open on Christmas for those trying to stay out of the cold.
Temperatures aren’t expected to rise above the freezing mark until Tuesday. Until then,the National Weather Service said that temperatures will hit a high of 16 degrees Saturday, with wind chill values of between -5 and zero, and wind gusts as high as 29 mph.
