Huntington Parade, Tree Lighting Shine Despite Weather

Though rain in the forecast canceled Saturday’s Wall Street Festival and outdoor performances by Sal “The Voice” Valentinetti, the Huntington Chamber Choir, and others, Huntington’s 9th Annual Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting marched on.

Town Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci, who served as co-grand marshal for this year’s parade, said that thousands attended the festivities, adding, “You could see that people were having a good time.”

The crowd enjoyed floats, including a prize-winning one by Huntington Coach Corporation, plus those by Fire Departments from Greenlawn, Huntington, Huntington Manor, Plainview, Syosset, and Melville (best in its category).

Did you miss the celebration? You still have time to see the Tree. It sits in front of the AMC Loews Shore 8, which, in keeping with the season, is showing The Grinch.
