Huntington St. Patrick’s Parade Canceled

The 87th St. Patrick’s Day parade scheduled for March 14 has been canceled because of continuing concerns about Covid-19.

The Huntington Ancient Order of Hibernians said that the parade and celebration of healthcare workers that had been scheduled for March 14 would be moved to next year. And this year’s designated grand marshal, Northwell Health CEO Michael Dowling, will lead the parade next year.

“The Huntington Hibernians look forward to celebrating all the all our frontline workers and our Huntington Hospital Healthcare Heroes at our parade on Sunday, March 13th 2022,” the group said.

Last year’s parade, the 86th such annual event, went off March 8 and was one of the last large public events in Huntington before everything began shutting down to stop the spread of the virus.
