Huntington Station Unveils a Welcome Sign

 

A sign welcoming people to Huntington Station was unveiled Wednesday on New York Avenue, part of efforts by the Huntington Station Business Improvement District to beautify the area.

Elected officials praised the organization and president Frank Cosentino for their work. Town Supervisor Ed Smyth also reminded State Assemblyman Steve Stern that the he would be asked to find more state funds for decorative streetlighting and other projects.  “A big part of our job is panhandling,” Smyth joked. Other officials participating in the unveiling were Town Board members Joan Cergol and David Bennardo, Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly, Community Development Agency director Angel Cepeda and tax receiver Jillian Guthman.

The sign is in front of the Huntington Station Food Plaza Supermarket at 2035 New York Ave.
