Huntington Synagogues Joining in Anti-Semitism Forum

Several local synagogues are participating in a forum Wednesday on combating anti-Semitism.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney K. Harrison are scheduled to speak at the forum at Suffolk Y JCC in Commack.

Among the participating synagogues are Dix Hills Jewish Center, East Northport Jewish Center, Huntington Jewish Center, Melville Jewish Center, Temple Beth David, The Chai Center and Temple Beth El.

The forum, which starts at 7 p.m., will be moderated by the Suffolk County Jewish Advisory Board.

The New York Anti-Defamation League reported last week that anti-Semitic attacks rose 36 percent last year, including assaults, harassments and vandalism.
