Huntington to Mark Martin Luther King Day

Organizations are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a variety of ways on Monday.

Kehillath Shalom Synagogue in Cold Spring Harbor is hosting a reading and conversation at 9:30 a.m. with
Calvin Alexander Ramsey, author of Ruth and the Green Book.

After 10:30 am, volunteers will prepare soup, sandwiches, and cupcakes for Helping Hand Rescue Mission’s Tuesday lunch program. The public is welcome to assist.
Schools and libraries are closed Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Neither Amazon nor the US Postal Service will be delivering packages on Monday.
There is no trash pickup in Huntington on Monday but the schedule for the rest of the week remains the same.

The LIRR operates on a weekday schedule with off-peak fares in effect all day.

Government offices, including Town Hall, are closed for the day.

Helping Hand Rescue Mission will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for donations of non-perishable foods, hygiene products, baby supplies, small household items and winter clothing in excellent condition.
