Huntington Turns Out for National Night Out

National Night Out was celebrated in two locations Tuesday in Huntington, part of  a community-police event held every August around the country and Canada.

Local leaders, including police, town, school and county representatives, gathered at Manor Field Park for food, a basketball tournament, bounce houses and other activities.

At  Dix Hills County Park, Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. sponsored a street hockey event with the New York Rangers. Ex-Ranger Tom Laidlaw was on hand to offer advice and sign authographs, and several Sheriff’s Department vehicles were on display.
