Huntington Waterfront Festival Draws Throngs

The eighth annual Waterfront Festival and Craft Fair drew crowds Sunday eager to enjoy the music, vendors and food under welcome sunny skies.

A few soggy spots left over from Saturday’s downpour weren’t enough to dampen the enthusiasm of residents who wandered amongst the rows of vendors, who offered everything from wood carvings to jewelry, lessons in tying knots, information about oysters, boats and marine supplies, the Huntington lighthouse and antiques.

The festival is part of  Safe Boating Week, sponsored by the Greater Huntington Council of Yacht and Boating Clubs. Coming up later this week are classes in taking command of a boat in an emergency, handling a medica crisis on board a boat, the history of whaling and more.
