An apparent glitch is showing huge tax increases on properties listed on Realtor.com for the 2019-2020 tax year.
One Greenlawn property, for example, in the Harborfields school district, has taxes of $14,46.58, according to the Town of Huntington website. But the real estate website claims taxes went up to $28,493 for the 2019-2020 year.
A Huntington property with a true tax bill of$11,698.78 is showing a $18,592 bill on Realtor.com
Taxes have already been paid for the 2019-2020 tax year.
One Facebook user said they had contacted Reator.com, which said the tax information came from Suffolk County.
Realtor.com says it is the official site of the National Association of REALTORS® and is operated by Move, Inc., a subsidiary of News Corp. The site says, “The price and tax history data displayed is obtained from public records and/or MLS feeds from the local jurisdiction. Contact your REALTOR® directly in order to obtain the most up-to-date information available.”
