Huntington Inauguration Ceremony Scheduled Jan. 6

The Town of Huntington will hold its 2020 Inaugural Ceremony for the swearing-in of town officials on Jan. 6.

Eugene Cook, councilman, will be sworn in for third 4-year term by Daniel Martin, acting state Supreme Court justice, retired; Joan Cergol, councilwoman, first 4-year term, sworn in by State Sen. Jim Gaughran; Andrew P. Raia, town clerk, first 4-year term, sworn in by retired Town Clerk Jo-Ann Raia; and Jillian Guthman, receiver of taxes, first 4-year term, sworn in by the Rev. Larry Washington, Evergreen Baptist Church.

State Sen. John J. Flanagan will serve as master of ceremonies.

The ceremony is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Huntington High School, 188 Oakwood Road, Huntington.

Musical performances include those by the Huntington High School Honor String Quartet Ensemble, the Huntington High School Brass Ensemble, and the Huntington Men’s Chorus.

Refreshments will be served from donations by Cirella’s Restaurant, Copenhagen Bakery, Northport Deli, Dix Hills Diner, Mr. Sausage, Dunkin Donuts, Panera Bread and Sweet Mama’s.
